Negotiating Globally

Given Japan`s changing demographics and ongoing struggle to cope with the two decades of low growth, many Japanese companies are under pressure to Globalize. To "Globalize" basically means that companies have to NEGOTIATE with suppliers, buyers, partners and especially employees from ever corner of the globe.

Whether you are in charge of negotiations, part of a team of negotiators or just trying to negotiate better outcomes with your team members, the "Golden Rule" it that you must thoroughly consider the culture and country of your counterparts or risk losing out on important opportunities and in some cases you risk weakening or destroying existing operations.

This golden rule of negotiating globally is also true for all foreign capitalized companies operating in Japan. If you do not thoroughly consider Japanese culture, including its way of negotiating, you risk losing out on important opportunities.  Japan is still very much on the cutting-edge of technology and huge opportunities still exist. In fact, their may be even more opportunities now than ever before since more and more Japanese companies now recognize that they need to globalize in order to survive and are in search of new opportunities.

Japan Solutions helps participants develop a global mindset in order to become effective global negotiators. We will, for example, give you the tools and training which will help you figure out in advance how each country and its culture is different and consider appropriate negotiating styles. Inadequate preparation including poor word choice can lead to adversarial working relations and unproductive contract discussions. Adequately preparing for your international negotiations, on the other hand, will greatly improve your chances for success.

Japan Solutions` Workshops and Seminars take a modulor approach to improve participant`s ability to negotiate. Participants take necessary modules to complete their understanding of the theory and methods of negotiation and then practice their new found knowledge working on case studies, participatng in as well as facilitating discussions and whenever possible developing their own case studies and role plays.

Japan Solution`s introductory seminars and workshops start with the necessary language skills necessary to handle negotiations in English. Additional seminars and workshops introduce internationally recognized negotiation frameworks, these frameworks are put to practice in situations that are always customized for participants or clients to make them realistic and relavant.  Additional seminars and workshops introduce and practice advanced negotiation techniques as well as to consider difficult intercultural issues that impact negotiations.

A combination of Japan Solutions' Cross Cultural offerings and our Negotiation Training Solutions will ensure that you are prepared for your next business trip.
